The Basset Biography

Ralph Basset Associates is a Fergus based fundraising and development firm established in 1995 by Bruce Lloyd. As a Kinsmen, Bruce was involved with many charity drives to raise money for the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. It became apparent to those who worked with Bruce that he had a natural ability as a fundraiser and encouraged him to develop it into a full time business. Heeding their advice, Bruce went into business for himself naming the company after his beloved family dog “Ralph”.

One of the first clients of Ralph Basset Associates was the Fergus Scottish Festival. The Festival required a new Sponsorship Manager to develop partnerships with the corporate community and hired Ralph Basset Associates to fill the position. After just one year, sponsorships for the Scottish Festival increased by 48%. Basset has continued to raise the Festival’s sponsorship profile year after year, and in the process acquired additional responsibilities. Basset also produces applications to foundation and government grants, operates the Festival Lounge Facilities and coordinates volunteers on the Festival’s behalf.

Today, our organization represents a number of not-for-profit groups and corporations, each with unique characteristics and circumstances. Basset’s services have grown beyond sponsorship to include special events and business training and development. We offer a range of tailored services and bring experience, determination and genuine enthusiasm to all our activities.
